It was very nice reading about my great aunt, Consuelo. My grandmother, Taurina, was her sister.

I vaguely remember the visits to Hayden when I was a little boy in the early 70's. I'll always remember Fidel showing me a Daisy BB gun pistol. I liked it so much, he gave it to me.

My Uncle Edward Enriquez, who passed away in April 2010, was always on me to try and connect with my Wildcat and Sun Devil cousins in AZ. (He loved to root for both of the AZ schools whenever they were playing my alma mater, USC.) As is often the case, we get caught up in our own busy lives and I never got around to it.

However, my cousins should know they have a Trojan cousin who would love to meet up with them, if they ever make it to a road game with USC. I'm a former member of the USC marching band. My wife & I attend all of the home football games and a road game, once in a while.

I know some of you may have stayed in touch with Cousin Eddie, (the artist from San Francisco). He, too, can be hard to track down.

I hope this note finds all of the Padillas and Velascos doing well.

Best Wishes,
David Enriquez

Hi Bern, I used to go to church and was a church musician when I did not believe. I grew up in the church yet knew nothing of the Bible, really. In those days, I couldn't wait for the pastor to finish the sermon, so I could play and 'worship'(show off).

After my university music career, I had decided God did not exist; so far as starting drafts for a book on the topic.

I went deep into the world. Very deep.

One day, I realized I needed to research the Bible a bit to disprove what I thought were its fairy tales.

The very first book I opened at random was Revelations. The first verse I read, I could not believe my eyes... I read it over and over for 1/2hr. I cried, knelt and proceeded to read the whole book. Then I went to Isiah 1 and read up to Isaiah 53... that's when I stopped, cried again and asked for forgiveness. I knew that was Jesus being described (though previously I believed Jewish scholars were correct about Jesus not being mentioned in the OT).

Two books in one night and then a hunger for reading thereafter.

I then went back to church after 10 years away and was disappointed. The sermons were lean and only as an intermission to the worship concert. I no longer needed music in my life; the Word was the music I was always looking for.

So I read by myself and talk to people I'm put in front of. A few days ago, a friend who was dealing coke believed Christ died for him-- those are thrilling adventures.

I follow up with people who have believed and we read. I know the church is the Bride of Christ and not a building.

So that's where I am.

I hope it won't be your last comment, because if we're going to talk scriptural truth, we're in it until we hit rock bottom. The Lord be with us in this and guide us.

--------------------------------
Acts 1.7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons...
--------------------------------
What was this an answer to?
--------------------------------
Acts 1.6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou ***at this time*** restore again the kingdom to Israel?
--------------------------------
So the answer to those gathered was 'no', you are not the ones who will witness this. However, it is us (you and I). Ryan, you have, in your lifetime, seen a plane fly. Those gathered in Acts 1.6 did not. This is a very different epoch and we have to understand where we stand.

Now Luke 12.39-40

Verse 40, Jesus says he will come at an hour when you don't think. It applies to me, because I can't imagine when or how, and at this point it applies markedly to you, Ryan, because your position is that is something for us not to have.

Verse 42 Jesus says,
-----------------------------
"42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat IN DUE SEASON?
-----------------------------
What is this due season Jesus speaks of? Ironically, the term "DUE SEASON" appears 10 times in 10 verses in all the Scriptures-- another numerical harmony to our date; 2010.

Some of these instances are:
------------------------------
Psalms 145:15 - The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in *due season*.

Psalms 104:27 - These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in *due season*.

Leviticus 26:4 - Then I will give you rain in *due season*, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Galatians 6:9 - And let us not be weary in well doing: for in *due season* we shall reap, if we faint not.

Brother Ryan, *due season* has to do with harvest. Our topic is being able to tell the time of the harvest. Let's review what harvest means to us:

Jeremiah 51:33 - For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.

Matthew 13:39 - The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
-------------------------------
So, the harvest is the end of the world.

Dear brother, I have a message of urgency. This is the season of harvest (literally, this fall)... let us not be like the sluggard:
-------------------------------
Proverbs 20:4 - The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in *harvest*, and have nothing.
-------------------------------
Instead, let us pray to be like the wise son:
-------------------------------
Proverbs 10:5 - He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in *harvest* is a son that causeth shame.
--------------------------------
Doesn't Proverbs 10:5 have a direct resonance with the first scripture you quoted in Luke?

Luke 12:45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
----------------------------------

This is what I've come to say: The groom is on his way. This is his season, this fall.

The enemy will take many, many with him within a matter of days. People you say hello to everyday; clerks, mailman, **family**, you name them.

You and I know we have nothing to fear from the sky, but they will seek to save their lives... and lose them. How can someone bury himself and expect to defeat death? Only the Lord has done that.

How can you have a straight conversation with someone under --real-- panic? Someone who seeks to save their life by hiding underground?

The time is now, with URGENCY. Preach salvation by Jesus. Get the oil for your lamp ready and stand by the door... we don't have much longer to go.

Better for us to say we spoke often than to regret not speaking.
------------------------------
Zephaniah 1:18 - Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
------------------------------

What the Father has not revealed to the Son is the day nor hour. We do not know what day nor hour He shows *this fall*. We do know the season.

I don't get the joke because I'm not in your circle; that's why it is funny to you and those within it-- people who use terms such as pre-mil, pre-trib rapture, eschatology, etc. Boxed categories of thought within a closed maze. Categorized down to liberal and conservative.

It is not funny to me, I don't see your joke. All is see is light-hearted homage to a Phd who would care about liberalism; Is that what you consider judgment?

It might not be your job to decide dates, but do not keep others from doing theirs-- to each their own Spiritual Gift. Daniel calculated the days up to what John declared. I'm sure these said two had a very rough time with this matter, as well; finding themselves surrounded.

What about Habakkuk's job? Habakkuk 2:2 - And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

The Lord's work is not static, which is what academia makes it to be... a study of history and its endless extra-biblical details. We are the ones operating today, in an unfolding time-line, of which God is the author and we are His people at ground level.

The Lord comes in months. Set your house in order, talk to your family about the plan of salvation NOW, so you have some credibility before the panic sets in.

The fear will come from the sky and the heathen will run; same reaction when God visited Adam and Eve.

Jeremiah 10:2 - Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

There are no coincides and this is as plain a table as I can deliver you. Set pride aside and work with urgency and much prayer.

In the love of Jesus Christ,

I don’t get the joke because I’m not in your circle; that’s why it is funny to you and those within it– people who use terms such as pre-mil, pre-trib rapture, eschatology, etc. Boxed categories of thought within a closed maze. Categorized down to liberal and conservative.

It is not funny to me, I don’t see your joke. All is see is light-hearted homage to a Phd who would care about liberalism; Is that what you consider judgment?

@Pablo,
I love that you think you know what the Father has not even revealed to the Son and the Spirit. that aside, I hope you are right. in fact i hope christ returns before i have time to hit the submit comment button....
but the consistent scriptural witness is that whenever it is, it is not our job to decide dates and times but to be ready through our sober obedience and radical discipleship.

as for your reference to my comment, do you not get a joke? i understand you are profoundly against theological education, but who do you think you are that you can judge me by 2 line conversation over the internet? how about this brother, focus a little less on deciding what you cannot possibly know, and a little more on obeying our Lord and manifesting the character of Christ.
