If You Want to Know God’s Will…

May 25, 2010

… get to know God!  We all have decisions in life, great and small; these decisions are setting the course for the rest of our lives.  The key to determining and living in God’s will is to draw near to Him in total and utter surrender.  This is no real surprise because – like any relationship – you learn how to communicate better as you grow closer to someone.

Meet with God This Christmas!

December 16, 2009

Macaulay Culkin and I are about the same age, so that probably explains why I loved Home Alone so much (the first one).  While I could go on and on about zip-lines and pellet guns, about fireworks and swinging paint cans, lets just suffice it to say that Christmas-Crazys seem to come upon us all and if we don’t watch out we’ll miss out on meeting with God on Christmas (which is probably the last thing we should want to do)!

Listen to: The Lord of Christmas.

Here it is: We’re In This Together!

August 4, 2009

Let’s go all in! Below you’ll find the message “We’re In This Together” from Ephesians 4.1-16.  I decided to focus on making it our aim to realize God’s purpose for the church to grow toward Christ-likeness by sincerely committing ourselves to God and one another and by looking to be part of a grass-roots ministry as a lifestyle.

Listen to: Eph 4.1-16: We’re In This Together!

Discussion Question: The application section could be developed much further – I only began to scratch the surface of what a lifestyle of grass-roots ministry might look like.  What sorts of things would you like to see your church start doing or encourage and equip you toward?

Freedom Pt. 3 – Here It Is!

June 5, 2009

Thank you all for your input leading up to the May 31, 2009 message on freedom (one of you even got a block quotation!).  I went in the direction of exploring the myth of spiritual anarchy and comparing it to the freedom that Jesus offers, a freedom He calls knowing God as Father.

Listen to: Freedom Is Christ

Discussion Question:  Due to time constraints I did not get to spend as much time as I would have liked on the freedom that Jesus calls knowing God.  What is freeing about knowing God aside from being spared from God’s wrath?
